Walking through Sheepleas woods we saw this buck about 100 metres away resting up behind the log. As it was his flight distance – any closer and he would run – and we made the mistake of stopping to look rather than walking on without showing we had seen him, he ran. I tried to imagine what it looked like closer in. He was a mature six pointer buck, so I gave him rather elaborate antlers.
